Lincoln Center produces the Broadway revival of South Pacific

May 12th, 2008

The revival of the 1949 classic musical “South Pacific” has been done industriously by the Lincoln Center Theater. The story dates back to the IInd World War period and revolves around Nellie Forbush who is a Nurse in U.S Navy and Emile De Becque, a widowed man who is a plantation owner. The thirty- member orchestration had made the scores like “Some Enchanted evening” and “There is nothing like a Dame” that has made the play even more enchanting. The cast of the play includes Tony Award nominee Kelli O’ Hara and Paulo Szot, the Brazilian opera star. This revival will definitely make the Broadway Theater fans very satisfied.

‘Bridge Over Land’ begins at Interart Theater Annex

April 26th, 2008

The “Bridge Over Land” written and directed by Gilbert Girion has already started its performance at the Interart Theater Annex from April 18th and will be entertaining the audiences with its captive stories till the 10th of May. Girion has three different short plays which do not have character resemblance, but are woven in such a manner that it has a cohesive feeling. The three short plays talks about bridges between people over a course of time and highlights issues like longing, loss and hope.

The Broadway showing of Bridge Over Land is sure to bring in many more theater lovers to the Interart Theater as it has been receiving good reviews from both the masses as well as the classes. Girion has been very careful in choosing the artist to play the different characters in his play and some of the artists are Lisa Chess, Kati Rediger, David Gelles and Ed Setrakian.
